Tipperary People and Places Open Day

Exhibition Open Day Saturday 19th February.

Why not visit the Tipperary People and Places exhibition in The Source, Thurles during the Open Day on Saturday 19th February between 2.00 and 4.30 p.m.  Enjoy a cup of tea, take a peep at the fabulous visual displays and have a chat with the Tipperary Studies staff.  Ask a question that interests you or bring a historical family document or photo to share and maybe allow to be digitised and added to the Tipperary Studies website so that more people can freely access and enjoy the county’s heritage and history.

On the day, you will see a variety of items from a two-hundred-year-old map of the bogs of the county, the Victoria Cross awarded to military chaplain, Fr. E. Kelly in 1917, several items from the War of Independence and Civil War and a vast array of photos.  The exhibition is just a small taster of what is actually available in Tipperary Studies.

All are welcome to The Source and we are really looking forward to meeting you.  Contact 052 6166123 or email studies@tipperarycoco.ie for more information.
