The records may also provide a foundation for a local study of South Tipperary with family names, place names etc all proving to be of interest.

Colman has taught in several universities including Limerick and Maynooth. His interests include the history of the Irish Parliament and criminology and criminal justice. He has written widely on both. His forthcoming work is on crime and punishment in early modern Ireland.
