North Tipperary Digitised Graveyard Registers
New Digitised Graveyard Registers
We are excited to announce a significant milestone in preserving local history!
Tipperary Studies, in partnership with Tipperary County Council Environment Office, has published the first tranche of digitised North Tipperary Graveyard Registers.
These registers represent an invaluable collection of burial records for graveyards under the care of Tipperary County Council. Spanning from the 1940s to the present day, the records include crucial details such as the name of the deceased, last address, date of burial, and plot location. Compiled by dedicated caretakers across North Tipperary, these registers offer a window into the past.
Why This Matters:
- Preservation: Ensuring these records are digitised helps safeguard our heritage for future generations.
- Accessibility: Researchers, genealogists, and the general public can now access these records with greater ease.
- Compliance: In adherence to GDPR, certain information has been redacted to protect privacy.
How to Access: All enquiries regarding the North Tipperary Graveyard Registers should be directed to the Environment Office of Tipperary County Council.
