Tipperary folklore; The Gobán Saor

The Gobán Saor was the greatest Irish mason and craftsman. Legend has it he had a hand in many historic buildings

including producing the cat with two tails carving from Holycross Abbey according to this story from the Schools Collection  .

He is reputed to be buried at  Derrynaflan Church, County Tipperary.
