Photographic exhibition opens in the Source Gallery
A walk down memory lane in Thurles!
What a fantastic turnout we had for the opening by Leas-Chathaoirleach Seamus Hanafin of the “Memories of Thurles, People & Places” exhibition at the Source Gallery on Tuesday evening!
This wonderful collection showcases Thurles through the lens of the late Donal Sammon, owner of Sammon Pharmacy in Liberty Square. The exhibition was organised by the Sammon family to commemorate the 100 anniversary of Donal’s birth.
Step back in time and rediscover familiar sights like Liberty Square, Friar Street, Slievenamon Road, Ladyswell, Thurles Golf Club, and of course, the iconic Semple Stadium. ️But that’s not all! The exhibition also features fascinating artifacts from Donal’s pharmacy, housed in the historical Devlin’s Medical Hall on Liberty Square. Take a trip down memory lane and explore the stories behind these unique pieces.
Don’t miss this chance to reconnect with Thurles’ past! The exhibition runs throughout February at the Source Gallery. Open during regular Library Hours.
