Launch of short film series ‘Opening the Archives’
We were delighted to officially launch our new short film series Opening the Archives. Many thanks to everyone who attended the launch and made it such a special day.
A sincere thank you to Caothaoirleach of Thurles MD, Cllr. Peggy Ryan, for launching the series, and to the Heritage Office for funding this project. We are also deeply grateful to all our patrons whose generous donations have enhanced our collections over the years.
Tipperary Studies holds a rich and ever-growing collection that tells the story of the county through the voices and materials of its people. These are not just documents sitting on shelves; they are fragments of lives lived, decisions made, and moments frozen in time.
Our new series of short films, Opening the Archives, offers an introduction to some of the unique sources preserved within the archive, and the remarkable insights they provide into Tipperary’s past. The series is not a set of history lessons — it is an open door.
