Historic Graveyards of Silvermines

Launch Night on Friday 12th July 2019

The digitisation of the Silvermines Parish graveyards, a project undertaken by the Silvermines Historical Society has been completed and will be launched on this Friday night, 12th July.

Dr John Tierney of Eachtra, who initiated the project with the SHS group, will officially launch the Project. From his vast experiences in surveying graveyards, he will give a talk on HISTORIC GRAVEYARDS including some interesting and historic headstones recorded in Silvermines.

Silvermines Historical Society would like to gratefully acknowledge the generous help from SHS members and friends and all the assistance with vital information. The smaller working group ( Paudie and ‘the graveyard girls’) gratefully acknowledge the support they received during a very interesting and worthwhile project,

The Launch takes place in The Eagle’s Nest, Dolla at 8.30 pm. All are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
