Maps collection in Tipperary Studies

Tipperary Studies holds copies of some of Tipperary’s earliest maps, dating from the 17th Century, through to the OSI’s modern maps of the 21st Century.

One of my favorites is this little gem of the area around Thurles in 1755. So impressed was the Earl of Rothes by his encampment of forces outside Thurles that he commissioned John Rocque, topographer to the Prince of Wales, to draw a map of the camp and surrounding area..as you do.
