Clonmel and district images

Tipperary Studies presents online a terrific range of photographs of Clonmel and district. These wonderful collection of images were captured by the lens of Clonmel photographer, Michael Murphy, a member of the Clonmel and District Historical and Archaeological Society.
Michael notes that ‘if you wish to be remembered, leave a legacy, such as a photograph of your town or place. The first photos which I took were of my native Clonmel in the early 1970s. Since then many familiar buildings, shop fronts, streets, etc. have been greatly changed and some are gone. It has been said that a picture is work a thousand words. Your photos can help preserve the unique features of your town and area. This could be your legacy that reaches far into the future’. Michael donated a collection of his images to Tipperary Studies and they are reproduced here by kind permission.
