John Kirwan;  The Chief Butlers of Ireland and the House of Ormond

The Butlers were one of the powerful families in Irish history. Opulence defined their lives. Based for over five centuries at Kilkenny Castle, they also had seats at Nenagh, Cahir, Roscrea, Kilcash and Thurles. John Kirwan graduate of UCD works as a freelance archivist and researcher. His written works include The Chief Butlers and Kilkenny families in the Great War.
